Completely separate Assessment Authoring permissions from assessment marking
PlannedI recently had some trainers randomly archive assessments accidentally.
When I tried to remove 'Assessment' Add and Update permissions this caused issues with trainers being able to bulk update and mark assessments so I had to revert the access back.
This means I currently have no effective way to restrict unauthorised users from archiving assessments mistakenly which I think is a huge compliance issue.
I would like Online Assessment Authoring to be completely separated from marking and enrolment permissions.
Assessment authoring permissions should relate to:
- Creating a new assessment
- Creating Assessment Types
- Editing existing Assessment
- Archiving Assessments
- Mapping Assessments
- Creating Assessment Plans
These are the things we need to be able to control permissions to and have it separate from permissions to bulk update or mark assessments.
This is the message a user gets if click 'Bulk Update Assessments' when they don't have 'Assessment' Update permission.

Hi Pip,
It seems like a mistake on our end that you would need "Assessments - Update" in order to bulk-update assessment submissions. I'll see if there's any reason for this but assuming there's not, we'll make the change to no longer require that permission for the bulk-update page.
