save copy email sent on one profile as a note on another profile

we send a lot of emails about students training that do not require them to be cc'd but do need to be on their records for tracking.

we currently have to go to the student profile and write a note or save a copy of the email that has been sent.

it would save a lot of time when sending the email if there was an option to save a copy of the email/correspondence to participant file as a note without it being sent to them.
