User Account Recovery for contacts without login details
AnsweredIn short, a way for candidates to do this themselves through a "recover account" screen on the learner portal would be amazing:
Currently, it is not possible for a learner to create an account / log in to the learner portal if they already exist as a contact without a user account.
On a small scale an administrator could create a handful of users, but as soon as this becomes hundreds or thousands of accounts that need to be added to existing contacts it translates to an extreme number of phone calls / emails / 1 on 1 support.
It would be great if learners had the ability to recover their account in these instances, something similar to the "Forgot Password" form, where they could be asked to supply some identifying information & their email address to create a new user account and attach it to the existing contact in Axcelerate.
Recent improvements to the learner portal have positioned it as a feature we'd love to use, but one that would also create huge administrative burden.

Existing system users (including students) should be able to fully recover their accounts as long as they know (and have access to) their email address.
Contacts in aXcelerate do not have User accounts, which is why they must be created. There is no way for learners to create user accounts at this time, and not something we are planning on implementing in the near future.
We do have the below options available in the Additional Options tab of the System settings, which will automatically create system users. This may save you a large administrative burden.
