    Hi Calvin,

Thanks for taking the time to post these suggestions - we are actually looking at completing a refresh of our dashboards framework and potentially adding some new widgets towards the end of this quarter, so this is very timely.

I have added your feedback to our project plan, and we will reach out to engage with you further over the next month or two.

Hopefully we can add some significant value to the dashboard area with the planned changes!

Would also be great to have a general notifications widget so we can post important updates / information to staff eg: staff absences, PD opportunities, updated processes / policies / procedures etc

    Thanks Jacob, sounds good.

I agree with Amelia. There are two other threads in the ideas forum related to that

    and here https://axcelerate.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/community/posts/360003104276-General-information-Key-Notes-on-Dashboard

You commented on the above post I put up ages ago linking to the others you wrote back then  :)

I thought if I added to this thread as it was getting attention from aXcelerate we might get it on the planning radar

I have a couple of other suggestions:

    1. Adding a report to the Dashboard is only possible for aXcelerate users who have full reporting access. There are many graphical reports that would be helpful for an aXcelerate user to see on their dashboard but we don't want to give them the ability to create their own reports. One example might be a report that shows the number of subjects completed by each trainer and you might want to this chart to be visible to all of your trainers but you don't want those trainers to be able to generate or export their own reports. If there was a specific permission setting for dashboard reports I think this would help.

    2. It would be handy if there was a way to configure a dashboard set up for a user without having to log in as them. This would include setting the default widgets to display (including multiple reports) and their position on the dashboard.

I agree also with the live reports on the dashboard not just charts

For example having the workshop waitlist available on the dashboard where you could filter by workshop location / type would be amazin

I agree with the above suggestions, particularly:

    3. Additionally, charts are limited to showing 20 columns of data. It would be handy to be able to see all columns of a chart, not just the first 20

    2. It would be handy if there was a way to configure a dashboard set up for a user without having to log in as them. This would include setting the default widgets to display (including multiple reports) and their position on the dashboard.

    and the permissions suggestion.

It would also be good if the charts could expand across the full dashboard. The widget expands but the chart does not. This would be helpful for charts with a large number of data columns.

    Hi Team,

Just following up on this post from 8 months ago - we think this would be highly valuable in our organisation.

We have started utilising the CHART Dashboards for our reporting for Executives & Management, but currently the BAR Chart only provides 1 Axis. The Combo Chart formatting is also not ideal, and the numbers overlap, and you lose all colour formats.

It would be great to have a BAR Chart with multiple fields i.e. the Bar (as per the Author on this Ideas original post) for a Class has multiple colours: 10 Enrolled so the Bar is 10 high, but 2 are Tentative, 4 are In Progress, 6 are Cancelled - as an example.

Similarly it would be great if this could also be done with Custom fields, so that we could have a Class and understand for example "Medical Form Provided Y, Medical Form Provided N, Medical Form Provided - To Review" and we can get good data / reviews from the Chart.

Jacob you noted 8 months ago that this was being explored. Can you please provide an update?

    Thanks!

Now that we are using the Online Assessments, Id love to see a stacked bar chart option on the dashboard for this with a filter for Class

    For example

    Class A

Y axis: number of students enrolled

    X axis: assessment

Then stack to reach the total number of students with:

    • Completed
    • Submitted
    • In Progress
    • Not Commenced

This would be great for trainers to have their classes on their own dashboard and for leadership team to have oversight of all classes

Agree completely with stacked bar charts as an ideal visualisation for a widget.  There is so much great data in aXcelerate but the combo chart is very limited for options. For example: Course / Class numbers

If our maximum number for a training room is say 30 then we need to closely manage numbers as we get closer to the start date so we do not over sell. We look at enrolled (in progress) and tentative (not a completed enrolment) for that cohort to get a total number potentially finalising for that course.   It could be very simply visualised in a stacked bar chart where you could see three sets of data and hover over the bar to get the detail:

    • Total Numbers
    • Number Confirmed enrolments
    • Number of tentative enrolments

    Looking something like this:

Or even more data drawing from 4 fields:

It would certainly bring more meaningful data to life as well as reduce the volume of widgets you ned to be able to assess all of the data.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Amber and Amelia,

    All great ideas!

We had commenced a dashboard refresh project that has since been placed on hold. Lovingly named 'Dream Dashboards' the project is key 'want' from our CEO, so I suspect it will be resumed at some point in the near future.

    Cheers,
    Rod.
