    Hi Calvin,

Please perform a hard refresh in your browser in order to see the drop-down icons correctly (instructions for doing this in all browsers can be found on the home screen message). More information regarding changes to the UI will be released in due time, and I would encourage you keep an open mind about interim changes like these, as we are striving to improve the user experience for all axcelerate clients.

    Hi Jade,

Thanks. We performed the hard refresh and are now able to view the drop downs.

I know it might offend but I still maintain my view on the other three points:

    1. It's ugly! and inconsistent with nearly all other areas of the system

    2. It's an unnecessary change where the development time could have been better spent elsewhere - The forums are full of feature requests, there's plenty of things that your customer are requesting. I cannot find one person requesting a change to the contact record UI.

    3. The add note button is now almost invisible - it was much better as an orange button

I will also add another one:

    1. Previously the subject completed date was visible on the right hand side of the qualifications table. Now, you need to hover over the subject to see the subject completions dates.

Don't get me wrong. I love axcelerate and I think you do a bang up job, but I honestly can't see any upside of what you have done here despite how open minded I try to be.

Please change it back to the old UI.

    Hi Calvin,

Let me start be saying that we love to hear feedback from our clients, whether positive, or constructive criticism. I will try to address some of your specific points below:

    1. Aesthetic taste is very subjective, therefore it is difficult to please all users with a single design. We hope that you will defer your final judgement until we have something more complete and cohesive ready to show.

    2. The vision for axcelerate is to provide a system that RTOs love to use, and the user experience is a vital component in this vision. While we cannot implement every client suggested feature, we aim to implement those that will provide the most value to the axcelerate community as a whole.

    3. We will take this feedback into consideration for ongoing UI development.

    4. Again, we will take this feedback on-board for further development.

    Hi Jade,

Sure. I should acknowledge that I think it's ugly and that others may have a different opinion.

But I dont feel as though you have responded directly to my points of concern well enough.

If you are going to make UI changes, make the UI changes to the areas of the system that will make us, the RTO, your clients, look better. i.e. Focus your efforts on changing things that our clients/students will see such as the learner portal which currently looks like something from windows 97. It looks so bad that we are trying to avoid using it at all costs. Changing the UI of the management portal doesnt help us at all, it only serves to benefit axcelerate. It offers no benefit to us at all.

I appreciate that axcelerate are trying to provide a system that we love to use but if you have a look in the community forums, the RTO's are requesting functionality changes, not UI changes. If you want to create a system that we love to use, then focus your time and talents on things that make our roles easier or more effective and less time on trying to insignificant UI items more pretty.

I am still unable to see how changing the Management UI made it on the list of development priorities that could be considered as "providing the most value to the axcelerate community as a whole".

One of my recent gripes since the implementation of the community forums is the lack of axcelerate feedback given to feature requests and general discussions. While this has improved over the last 4 - 6 weeks the UI changes to the management portal reinforce to me how pointless theses forums are.

I hope you will use this feedback constructively and look at making some appropriate changes. I'm not just having a go for the sake of it.

I believe it is more time consuming using all the drop down boxes. I have to click a number of times to view a workshop on a clients record.

Looks pretty, but not as workable or efficient.

    Thanks guys

    Hi Calvin,

Our first official review of client suggested features within this forum is scheduled for next week. It is important to understand there is no guarantee that a client suggestion will be implemented by axcelerate (and that the forum has never been promoted in such a way), but we do read each and every suggestion, providing feedback where necessary.

While we do appreciate your point of view, I would like to remind you that new features and improvements are implemented each and every release to the benefit of all axcelerate clients, and we are willing to undertake custom work to meet specific client needs. While you may not agree, we believe that the axcelerate community will benefit from an improved user experience.

    Hi Stacey,

Viewing past workshops will now require an additional click only if no future workshop bookings are present (which will be expanded by default as before). We appreciate your feedback, and may be able to streamline this in future updates.

Sure I get it. You'll make whatever changes you feel like making or those that we pay for. I don't know why you try and make it sound like you're doing this for us.

The point is this, you've made changes that you feel benefit the "axcelerate community". I am part of the "axcelerate community" and I'm telling you that they don't benefit us. Which part of the axcelerate community did you consult with on the changes to the UI?

If anyone bothered to log forum requests because they thought it was beneficial they might agree with me but in your previous post you've already deflated everyone's hopes that we might be able to suggest a feature that will benefit them.

Nothing personal Jade, we think you're cool. I'm strictly targeting the decisions and reasoning being made.

Some of the changes, like the status being displayed instead of a tick is an improvement, But unfortunately there are many things that have been a step back in my opinion.

A few more examples of diminished functionality.

    1. Along with the dates that used to be included on the right of the table, Completed/ Cancelled status no longer displays on the enrolment on the contact record view.

    2. The workshops section now requires 2 drop downs to view.

    3. elearning doesn't apply to everyone, so why is that section ever present? cant it be hidden like the workshop section when it doesn't apply?

    4. The login screen...... hurts my eyes......why change it? it was perfect, the best looking part of the system before. You cant even see your logo anymore.

    5. Mobile users say the notes table displays smaller now and is harder to read.

    6. +1 on New note being practically invisible, only google does invisible buttons better.

    Hi Calvin,

Unfortunately our development priorities will not always align perfectly with each any every client, as is the nature of software development. We hope that on the whole, the constant effort we put into improving axcelerate will be of benefit to your organisation, and the axcelerate community.

Let me assure you, and all other clients using this feature request forum, that your suggestions are valued. Although we cannot guarantee the implementation of a given feature, suggestions that are deemed to provide the greatest benefit to all of our clients will be making their way into our development plan. As mentioned, our first formal review of these suggestions is scheduled for next week.

    Hi Jeremy,

    1. We will see what we can do about adding this status back into this area
    2. As mentioned above, the additional click only applies to past workshops, and we are open to feedback on the ideal method of displaying this data
    3. We will ensure that in future, this is hidden if no eLearning data is present
    4. Thank you for your feedback (an update to the logo will be coming in the next release)
    5. Can you please provide some more detail via a support request so that we can investigate the issue?
    6. We will keep this feedback in mind for future development

I second Calvin's request to change the UI back and agree with Stacey's comments re the extra dropdowns - unanimous support from my team that the previous UI is preferred and it should be changed back.

Also second Calvin's comments re development priorities - I have been saying that since we started with aXcelerate.

    Hi all,

Another option for displaying the workshop participation data would be to use a searchable/sortable table, similar to the notes section on the same page. This would allow all workshop bookings to display in the same table, with the ability to sort by date, booking status or workshop name as required. It would be great to get some feedback on this idea.

    Hi Jade,

I'm having trouble envisioning your proposal. The only difference I can see from what is currently available to what you are proposing is that each field of the workshop table can be sortable.

Don't be creative. Just focus on the feedback that has already been provided.
