Edit and Delete Payment
PlannedEdit or Delete Payments
Currently there is no way to edit or delete a payment from an invoice if it is created in error. If the data has not been exported this should be an issue to amend or delete a payment. Credit noting an invoice will keep the payment which then shows in payment reports and exports, so it unhelpful.

The ability to update the details of a payment (including the amount as long as it is not applied to an invoice) has already been added to aXcelerate and will go live in our release next week (see the latest release notes for more info). While functionality to completely delete the payment has not yet been developed, the ability to update the payment is a precursor to this, and will hopefully be of assistance.

Just got off phone with support and see that what you say is true. I don't think I know any system that does not allow someone to correct a double entry or non-existant payment immediately if the financial period has not been closed off.
I was initially advised to create a credit note, but this is totally incorrect as a credit note sits in the system telling us that the customer has a credit, which they do not. That is why the payment still shows in payment report as your client's financial record should now have dollars in credit for future invoice.
A refund record would be the closest thing I can see that would resemble correct process as this tells us we no longer have the money, but still is incorrect and confusing to users if customer enquires about their account as it infers that money has transfered back and forth.
If axcelerate do not want to allow payment deletions then there must be a journal feature added so a payment reversal can be added with clear reason such as "duplicate entry of payment".

Our accounts team go crazy over this one - We currently have 9 months of errors since implementing - Imagine what it will be like in 3 years, 5 years trying to work out the person's financial records. It has to be addressed as soon as possible - and believe it needs to be marked as Urgent!
