Do not permit name change after USI verification
AnsweredI have just received confirmation from ASQA that the name on a certificate or statement of attainment MUST match the name on the USI registry.
I thought this anyway however we have had numerous requests for the USI in maiden name to be verified and then issue the certificate in the married name (and various other scenarios). Some of those requests have come from other RTO Managers that I have done RPL's for recently so obviously not everyone knows this requirement.
Can aXcelerate add some functionality that will "un-verify" a USI if the contacts name is changed? ie. remove the green tick forcing the RTO to verify the USI again before issuing certificates.
If anyone would like a copy of the ASQA email for their records please let me know and I will forward it to you.

Hi Tomos,
Thanks for your comment.
This functionality does exist within the system currently.
If any of the required USI information is changed (Given Name, Surname, Date of Birth) the USI will be 'unverified' and a contact note is added noting the change, along with the user that made the change.
If the system setting of 'USI Requirement Exemption' is set to 'No', this will prevent you from issuing a certificate if the student does not have a verified USI.

Can aXcelerate give feedback on the implementation of a feature that assists with preventing names from being changed when a USI has already been verified?
There really needs to be a warning that this makes the students verified USI now invalid or better yet if the system could un-verify the USI because when the name is changed it is no longer verified but the aXcelerate system does not show this, it still shows it with a green tick.
At the moment to reverify a USI you have to click to update students details, then you have to 'change' the USI, delete it, save the students details, then re-update the students details, add the USI back in, save it again, then go to the USI management system to verify it.
It should be harder to change the name making it unvalid and not compliant than it is to try to reverify it and make it compliant.
Due to the ease of changing a name once a USI is already verified this is easily going to be done without the USI being reverified which could lead to some RTO's not being compliant with verified USI's.
