I think this would be a valuable feature.

If I have understood correctly, I just thought i'd share one idea which might work for you in the interim. If you create your training plans as a template and send them as a template rather than attaching it as a document to a merge doc you might find some degree of success in sending the training plan to both the trainee and the employer.

    Good luck

    Hi Calvin,

Our training plans are set up as a template, but we're not really happy with the format that they email out in, as they email out in a portrait orientation, and it's messy on the student's end to print it from their email in a way that's presentable/easy to read etc so they can sign it and send it back to us.

    Hi Sophie,

yep I understand what you're saying. Where did you get your training plan templates from? We got some from axcelerate originally but they had the same problems that you are describing. You need someone familiar with html to be able to adjust them so that it comes out correctly.

Depending on how far off you are, there is an option to create and display the template in landscape. When you edit the template at the very bottom on the left hand side of the page there is a setting which allows you to select portrait or landscape. Try checking to make sure that it's set to landscape. That might fix it for you to get you significantly closer.

    Good luck

    Hi Calvin,

We created our own training plan templates based off the NSW Training Plan, but Axcelerate have also provided us with a version which is pretty identical to the one we have developed anyway. Our training plan is set to landscape, the problem has always been that when you email out the template through Axcelerate, it emails out in portrait format, regardless of whether your template is set to landscape or portrait. Axcelerate said that was not something they could change.

    Hi Sophie and Calvin,

Calvin, I just wanted to let you know that a response you sent through was captured in the suspended by the support system, as you replied to the email notification for this request. Unfortunately there is no way to recover this to the forum but I just wanted to let you know what had happened to it.

Training plans can be very complex documents to format. As the contact who receives a HTML based email could be using any mail client, which may or may not support print formatting tags, the end result can differ dramatically from the intended format.

This is why the PDF functionality in the template engine exists, so that you can create documents that you know will consistently have the same format.

We understand the need for making sending correspondence and documents easier, for example our recent changes to the way certificates are sent out from the system.

One of our aims with this forum is to generate discussion such as this, to identify areas where we can make changes to improve the system and to take your ideas and feedback into account when developing new features.

    Regard,

    Rob Bisson
