Great idea.  The place I would really like to see this change is in the Certificate templates, where the date appears as (e.g.) "24-Feb-17".

I think "24th February 2017" is more typical for certificates and more professional-looking.

Rather than a permanent change to a particular format in these templates, it would be best to have the option to choose which date format we prefer.

Hi Cindy, good news, this can already be achieved with the certificates!

In the edit text box there should be a space called 'mask:' if you type - d mmm yyyy - in this section then the date format on the certificate should change to 12 May 2017.

I think you can find all of the different date mask formats types in the help guide.

Thanks Tahni re the date mask for Certificate templates - that worked a treat!

To show the whole month name I needed to use "d mmmm yyyy" (four "m"s shows the whole month name, three "m"s abbreviates it to 3 characters)

Another vote for this idea. For some templates (communications, for example), it would add more formality if you could have dd MMMM yyyy for example. I know for courses there is complex dates, but for fields such as [Today Date] it would be beneficial.
