Please review the following help articles regarding the Scalability Project, and the New Login Experience. If you are having trouble logging in, please view this troubleshooting guide. The following FAQs are intended to supplement the above two help articles.
New Login Experience
What do I have to do to prepare for the New Login Experience?
Please click here to review the actions you will need to take.
Do I have to use the New Login Experience?
Yes. This is an important security & infrastructure change critical to the stability and success of aXcelerate’s long term future.
When is the New Login Experience being activated?
The New Login Experience is being activated at 1:00 PM on Thursday the 26th of August. A communication message will be displayed within aXcelerate communicating this change.
What will happen at 1:00 PM AEST?
All non-Student users will be directed to the migration page and will be required to migrate their user account to a new Global Account. Students will not be logged out of aXcelerate. Instead, they will need to migrate on their next login attempt.
I can’t access my account. How do I proceed?
You should follow the prompts on the login page to recover your account.
What happens if I am a student / user across multiple aXcelerate accounts?
Each time you login with your username and password for each separate aXcelerate account, you will be prompted to create your global account. You should utilise the same global authentication method each time, in order for the accounts to be linked. This will allow you to easily switch between them.
If I am a user across multiple accounts, how will aXcelerate know which account to log me into?
You will be automatically logged into the correct account based on the subdomain you are on. For example, if you are a user at “RTO123” and you login via rto123.app.axcelerate.com, you will be automatically signed in to that aXcelerate account. If you access aXcelerate via the base URL (simply app.axcelerate.com), you will be logged into the first aXcelerate account you had accessed.
If I have multiple traditional aXcelerate accounts, can I merge them into one?
You would simply need to login to each individual aXcelerate user, and repeat the migration process for each aXcelerate Account. You should choose the same authentication method each time.
I no longer have access to my authentication method for my global account (e.g., my Facebook account got deleted). How do I access aXcelerate?
You would need to contact your RTO and ask them to re-send you an invite. You would then sign up with a different authentication method. This process would need to be repeated for every RTO you are a part of.
What if I change my mind on what method I want to use to login to my Global Account?
As above.
When is the New Login Experience Invitation template being added?
The template should be available in your live account. It is titled “New Login Experience Invitation”. You may modify this template if you wish. The new template field we have added has the code [User Login Access Link]. You may use this template field to design your own template if you wish.
What do the new Template fields do? [User Login Access Link] and [User Login Access Link Text]
[User Login Access Link] provides the user with a link to login - whether they are an existing user or a new user.
[User Login Access Link Text] informs the user of the method previously used to login.
Sending a template that contains these fields will automatically generate user records for learners (if they didn't exist previously).
What is happening to all the different system default templates?
The functionality of the system default templates will remain the same. On the day of activation, the template we have added to your account “New Login Experience Invitation” will be set as the default system template in your account for all user roles. Once we have updated the system default templates, you may safely adjust these defaults to suit your needs.
We are currently using the aXcelerate Moodle plugin. Are there any changes required to ensure that this plugin continues to function as expected?
No.
Is this update going to affect any APIs? Will we have to update this ourselves?
Yes. There are changes to the APIs as part of the New Login Experience which are detailed here. Any API integrations will need to be updated by you.
There is a warning about my WordPress plugin being out of date on my dashboard page. What do I need to do?
- If you have access to update your WordPress website, you should simply be able to navigate to the aXcelerate plugin to update and enable automatic updates. If you require assistance with this, please feel free to contact aXcelerate support.
- If you do not have access to update your WordPress website, you will need to contact your website administrator and have them update the plugin for you.
How can I remove the warning on the Dashboard that I need to update my WordPress website?
If you do not use the aXcelerate WordPress plugin, but are seeing the warning message on your dashboard, you will need to deactivate or remove the WordPress plugin on your website. Please contact your website administrator for assistance with this. Following this, navigate to the Approved Applications Register in the Web & Other Integrations tab of the system settings. Click Register a New Application. In the Application Name field, enter “WordPress Website”. Enter your website URL in the Application URL field. You may put any description into the Application Description field; we would recommend “Hide the WordPress warning on the dashboard”.
Subdomain Migration
What URL should I be using to login to aXcelerate?
As of the 28th of July, you should always attempt to use subdomain.app.axcelerate.com. https://app.axcelerate.com will continue to work, however it is best if you begin using your subdomain. Your subdomain may be viewed above the System Settings.
I can’t login to aXcelerate or am experiencing strange behaviour where I am being logged out of the system.
Ensure you are logging in with https://app.axcelerate.com. Once logged in, navigate to your Core Settings to view your subdomain. Once you have your subdomain, you should update ALL of your bookmarks to subdomain.app.axcelerate.com.
If you still encounter issues, please contact aXcelerate Support.
How do I view my subdomain?
Login via https://app.axcelerate.com. Once logged in, navigate to your Core Settings to view your subdomain.
Can I change my subdomain?
Yes, however we strongly advise against this. You will be responsible for updating any links which point to your old subdomain. Additionally, this can only be done once every 6 months.
Do I have to migrate to the new subdomain?
Yes. This change is a small part of important security & infrastructure changes critical to the stability and success of aXcelerate’s long term future.
Is this update going to affect any APIs? Will we have to update this ourselves?
For the subdomain migration, you will need to update all of the API endpoints you are using to utilise your own subdomain - subdomain.app.axcelerate.com.
Do I need to update links (e.g., resources) from admin.axcelerate.com.au to subdomain.app.axcelerate.com?
You will need to update any links that are not found within aXcelerate (e.g., a link from your website to the aXcelerate Learner Portal, or a link to a document stored within the aXcelerate resource library). Any links found within aXcelerate (e.g., within a template) will be updated by our developers, whether they are hardcoded to a specific aXcelerate link, or whether they are dynamically generated (e.g., via template field, workflow, etc).
Will all links beginning with admin.axcelerate, or app.axcelerate instantly be a broken link?
Links beginning with admin.axcelerate.com will break once the migration is completed for your account. The release of the New Login Experience will not affect these links at all.
Can aXcelerate assist with providing automatic redirects?
Links will require the new domain structure so that they point to the correct resource. Unfortunately, there isn't a solution to this and once your account has been migrated, the old links will no longer redirect.
If I upload a new resource prior to migration, and I want to use the link, should I already use the subdomain so that it doesn’t break when our account is moved across?
From this point onwards, you should always use your new subdomain. You should also begin updating any links so that when your account does go through the migration process, all links will continue to work as expected.
